Practices & Competitions
Basketball Information
There are three separate basketball teams with the CenTex Rockets (skills, 3v3 and 5v5). Below are the different practice and Area competition times for each team. The sign up form will let you know which team and corresponding practice/competition you will need to attend.
Special Olympics Basketball Sport Information
Practices
Basketball practices are held in Georgetown on weeknights, once a week and generally last an hour. Practices will be held weekly until the week before the Area competition.
For security reasons, the practice location will be announced by the coach two weeks prior to the start and sent to you via email after sign ups close.
Basketball Practice Day/Times
- Skills: Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm to 6:45pm beginning in December
- 3v3 & 5v5 Competition: Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm to 7:30pm beginning in January
Competitions
Area (regional) competition information can be found here on the Area 13 calendar and is typically in February/March.
If you do not see the date(s) listed, it will be published closer to the competition date.
Uniforms
Each athlete will need to wear an official CenTex Rockets basketball jersey for the Area Competition. Jerseys are $35 each and each athlete will be assigned a unique number.
Please indicate in the signup form if you have a jersey on hand already. If you need one, a link for payment will be sent to you after your signup is submitted.
Athletes will also need black basketball shorts with NO pockets. Please be sure your athlete has shorts like these before the Area competitions.
Coaches
Sign up!
Sign-ups will open four months prior to Area competitions.
Deadline for this sport sign up will be three weeks prior to the first practice.
